Lilly Bowl
A soft and wavy bowl, a statement piece for any home, inspired by my wife Lilly.
Original designed as a light, the Lilly bowl was born from a happy mistake. Rolling out large sheets of clay to form plates, I dropped the clay onto a pillow (still making all our ceramics in our lounge at this point). The way it landed reminded me of a Lilly pad, floating in the water, the curves naturally fold and bend to form the most perfect shape.
I left the clay to dry, attached a foot white I thought would help hold the light as a pendant. A few broken attempts later, I did the obvious thing. Flip it over and use it as a bowl. The mold we use today is still that very original piece. It still holds the same imperfections, folds and bends as that one sheet of clay that fell on a pillow. The Lilly bowl was a piece that helped us carve out our own unique style. A piece that has helped Author become Author
The bowl/plate is perfect as a centre piece or used for salads, fruit, dessert or as a vanity dish. Hand made using a press mould, each piece has subtle hand prints, a makers mark of sorts, each piece tells its own story.
