Step one
Start with the board
Every good gather begins with something to pick at. Lay a platter down the centre of the table and pile it high, cheese and cured meats at one end, olives and something sweet at the other, a knife left in the butter. Let people reach across each other for it. The board is not really about the food. It is the reason everyone leans in and stays.
Our tip. Leave gaps. A board that looks a little undone invites people to dig in.
Step two
Give them something to dip
This is where a table comes alive. Set down a little dish of good olive oil, a bowl of dip, another for the olives and the pits, and hand everyone something to tear their bread through. These small vessels are where the night gets loud. Hands cross, someone double dips and nobody minds, and the conversation loosens with every reach. Do not think of them as extras. The little dishes are the invitation to get stuck in, the moment a polite gathering becomes a proper one.
Step three
Bring the bowl that makes it a meal
Then comes the turn. A big salad bowl set down in the middle changes everything, the moment the night stops being nibbles and becomes dinner. Fill it generously, pass it hand to hand, let everyone serve themselves and reach back for more. A bowl this size says something out loud, we are staying, we are eating properly, pull your chair in. It is the centre of the table and the heart of the meal, and it deserves to be a beautiful thing.

This is just as pictured. I was unsure of the colors on the website but we ordered the coastal color which is a white with black speckles. It got here quickly and was packaged very well to ensure it wouldn't arrive damaged. It ended up being fairly expensive with taxes and shipping but it's a beautiful piece and so unique.
The platter arrived expertly wrapped and in perfect condition all the way to Melbourne . My daughter-in-law loves it and the customer service was excellent.(any questions I had promptly answered )Thank you .
Bought the Boring Platter as a wedding anniversary gift for my wife who absolutely loved it. So much so that it’s unlikely to be used as a platter unless we have Royalty over for tea. We are in love with the boring platter, which is far from boring. It elevates our platters and looks beautiful within our home. Like a piece of art, the platter is unique from every angle it is viewed from. Just on display or for serving food, this platter continues to impress us. Platter is awesome for sure. It was a little smaller than I expected but all good. What was a shock though was the size of the box and all the foam packaging. I actually felt bad about that. Perhaps there’s a more sustainable way to package the items?
Store owner replied: Hello, thank you so much for the kind words. I’m regards to the packing, the foam balls are soy and dissolve in water and will wash away in your kitchen sink, these are made locally. The boxes are a custom size made locally. Sadly couriers are extremely hard on fragile packages. Without the use of the amount of packaging a the size box we use, the platters would and have in the past smashed. Which is definitely not sustainable haha. We have done lots of research and testing to purchase the most sustainable products we can to package our pieces. So please be reassured that the paper and boxes are recyclable and the foam balls are soy and will wash away in your sink. Thanks so so much
